MORE ABOUT I
I by LYNN MACKIE
Now in its 8th successful season this prolific women's wear label is going from strength to strength, and has been received with great acclaim amongst the media and buyers during this meteoritic rise. A firm favourite amongst the celebrity circles and a sure bestseller for our growing UK retailers which numbers just over 40 of the strongest independent retailers in the market.
The label is the brain child of Scottish born designer Lynn Mackie.
Lynn gained her Masters degree from Edinburgh College of Art in 1990, followed by positions within some of the most respected design house in the UK and abroad, including Joe Casley-Hayford, Arabella Pollen, Helen Storey, Sontag & Mulligan and David Fielden during which period she also lectured fashion at The American College in London.
She was head designer of the Alexander Campbell label creating very successful men's/women's wear label. Her experience in technical and marketing aspects of fashion has guided her to build a complex understanding of the industry, which today reflects in her business practices and ethos for the label.
"I want to create clothes for women today that are wardrobe building pieces so styles, silhouettes and fabric from one season will compliment that of past and future seasons. Mixing soft feminity of fabrics with the masculinity of tailoring techniques. Most importantly I want to produce an accessible, quality inspired collection which will help us create a long standing viable brand."
